Everything you need to know about VirtuPet
VirtuPet syncs with Apple Health to track your daily steps. Your pet's health is determined by how close you get to your daily step goal. Walk more, and your pet thrives! You can also track activities, play minigames, and complete challenges.
Pet health = (Current Steps / Daily Goal) × 100. If your goal is 10,000 steps and you walk 6,700, your pet will be at 67% health. Your pet has 5 mood states: Sick (0-20%), Sad (21-40%), Content (41-60%), Happy (61-80%), and Full Health (81-100%).
Your pet's health resets at midnight local time. Each day is a fresh start. No punishment carried over from bad days! Daily achievements also reset if not completed.
Streaks track consecutive days where your pet ends the day at 100% health. This can be achieved by hitting your step goal or by playing pet activities. Break a streak by missing a day.
There are 5 pets: Dog (free), Cat, Bunny, Hamster, and Horse (premium). Each has unique moods and animations!
Complete various challenges to unlock achievements! Some are daily (like step goals), some are cumulative (like total steps walked), and some are one-time accomplishments. Track your progress in the Challenges tab.
VirtuPet automatically syncs when you grant HealthKit permissions during onboarding. Make sure you've allowed step count access in your device's Settings > Privacy > Health.
Yes! Go to Settings and tap 'Change Pet' to select a different companion. Premium members can access all 5 pets.
VirtuPet includes global and friends leaderboards with Today and Weekly views, plus friend codes. Your synced steps update rankings in the Ranks tab.
The full Community hub—Ranks, Feed, Awards, and games—is live. The feed is where you and friends share updates and cheer each other on alongside leaderboards.
Share your unique friend code (found in the Ranks tab) with others. They can enter your code to send a friend request. Accept requests to see each other on the friends leaderboard and compete together!
Shareable stat cards are available from Today: use photo + step overlays with frames, then share or save in a tap.
Coming soon: A dedicated Apple Watch experience is on the way—glance at steps and pet progress, and kick off quick walks from your wrist with sync back to iPhone. We’ll announce it in release notes when it lands.
Premium users can export their step data to CSV from the Insights tab. The export includes daily breakdowns, goal completion, and summary statistics. You can share the file or save it for your records.
The Insights tab shows how your current period compares to the previous one. For example, if you're viewing "This Week", you'll see a percentage change vs. last week. Smart insight messages help you understand your progress trends!
